A missing prospector has sparked a large land and air search around Lake Ballard, north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
Leonora police said they were continuing a search and rescue operation for the 46-year-old man on Thursday, who was last seen on Sunday, and was reported missing to police on Tuesday afternoon.
Police have found the man's campsite around 170km north of Kalgoorlie, where his vehicle was located, but officers have not been able to find the missing man anywhere nearby.
There are serious concerns for his safety and welfare, as it is not known if the missing man has access to food, water and shelter, and his supplies are still with his vehicle.
Police began an air search of the area on Wednesday, with the help of State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers and a local helicopter pilot.
SES volunteers, the helicopter and ground crews continued the land search on Thursday morning.
The search area includes the area between Snake Hill and Mount Ida.
