Police are hunting for a man deemed a dangerous offender who removed his tracking device north of Brisbane.
Setu Aloiai, 31, removed his GPS tracking bracelet and absconded from the Brighton area on Tuesday night, sparking an alert to a monitoring team.
"At 10.28pm unsuccessful attempts were made to contact him. A family member searched the residence, but could not locate him," Queensland Corrective Services said in a statement.
Aloiai served a nine year sentence for indecent assault with a circumstance of aggravation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was declared a serious violent offender in relation to each offence.
In March 2012 he was released under a five year supervision order.
He's described as 182cm tall with a dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos on his upper right arm and chest.
