A Qatari man will spend at least 15 years in a West Australian jail for fatally stabbing his rival in a gay love triangle.
Mohammed Ahmed Almansouri, 39, repeatedly stabbed American man Kenny Horack at a house in Subiaco in August 2011.
Both were in a relationship with the same man and all three were living together in the nine days before the murder.
Almansouri maintained he acted in self defence but a jury rejected his claim.
Supreme Court justice Lindy Jenkins accepted that Almansouri had been provoked because Mr Horack taunted him and claimed to have a closer relationship with the third man.
However, she said the murder was caused by Almansouri's jealousy and insecurity.
Almansouri was sentenced to life with a 15 year minimum.
With time already served his earliest release date is in 2026 when he is expected to be deported.
