Two Labor MPs Jennifer Rankine and Michael Atkinson have defended their attendance at a memorial service for members of a terrorist organisation.
Ms Rankine and Mr Atkinson, members of the South Australian Parliament, were invited by the Adelaide Kurdish Youth Society.
The service was for three Kurdish women killed in Paris last month, who were members of the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK.
Ms Rankine spoke at the service and said, while she had concerns about attending, she had promised the youth group she would go.
"They were not, as I understand it, committing any terrorist acts in Paris," she said.
"I don't have the history of those three women but I was concerned about the detail of the organisation, which is why I changed the information in the speech that was provided to me.
"All I did was honour a commitment."
