Federal Health Minister Tanya Plibersek will again meet with her Victorian counterpart in a bid to solve a bitter stoush over hospital funding cuts.
Victorian hospitals have closed hundreds of beds and delayed thousands of elective surgeries as the two governments accuse each other of multi-million dollar health cuts.
Ms Plibersek and Victorian Health Minister David Davis met briefly at Melbourne Airport last week but no solution was found.
Mr Davis said he would travel to Canberra next Wednesday to hold another meeting with Ms Plibersek.
"The last meeting was extremely disappointing," he told reporters in Melbourne on Thursday.
"We went in very good faith, tried to present an argument and tried to engage with the federal minister in a way that was to Victoria's benefit."
