An ACT Supreme Court judge has discharged a jury empanelled for the trial of a man charged over an armoured car robbery in Canberra's south in 2004.
This morning 68 potential jurors attended the court and that number was slowly cut until 12 jurors remained.
They sat through the first hour or so of a trial involving a man accused of shooting a security guard during an armed robbery in Mawson in 2004.
But on their return from the lunch break Acting Justice John Neild advised them one of jurors had been discharged.
The juror felt he was unable to sit through the three week trial.
Justice Neild said he had little choice but to discharge them all and a new jury will have to be selected next week.
He said he regretted that one juror's decision had meant a costly exercise for the court.
