Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 42-year-old woman at a house at Kambah in Canberra's south.
Officers were called to the Broad Place home by ACT Ambulance crews just after 9:00am
Police say a family member of the woman found her body lying just inside the front door.
The house was found unlocked.
A team of forensic officers waited outside the home for a warrant to be issued from the coroner allowing them to begin their investigation.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Ladd says while there are no obvious injuries, it is likely the body had been there for some time.
"Police were called here this morning and located a deceased female inside the residence," he said.
"Investigations are still continuing as in the circumstances and cause of the females death and we are treating this as suspicious for the time being."
Forensic officers are expected to work through Monday evening at the property before an autopsy is conducted on Wednesday.
