A teenage couple who shoplifted $70,000 worth of goods have been arrested by South Australian police.
A police raid in Smithfield Plains on Tuesday recovered a variety of goods allegedly stolen from Adelaide retailers, including electrical items such as TVs and sewing machines and a large quantity of brand-new DVDs.
Police say a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were pawning the stolen items at various second-hand dealerships.
The man has been charged with 76 counts of theft and 66 counts of making a false declaration to a second-hand dealer.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The woman was charged with 20 counts of theft and 16 counts of making a false declaration to a second-hand dealer.
She was granted police bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
