PITTSBURGH (AP) — Vitamin and supplement retailer GNC Holdings Inc. on Monday said two new directors were elected to its board.
The addition of Alan D. Feldman and Robert F. Moran brings the board to 11 members, from nine. They will serve until the company's annual meeting in 2014, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Feldman served as president and CEO of Midas Inc. from 2003 until 2012, when it was bought by TBC Corp. He also held the title of chairman from 2006 until 2012. Prior to that, he held senior management posts at McDonald's Corp. from 1994 through 2002, and earlier worked for the Pizza Hut and Frito-Lay units of Pepsico.
Feldman serves on the board of directors of Foot Locker Inc. and of John Bean Technologies Corp.
Moran was CEO of PetSmart Inc. from 2009 until to June, and also held the title of chairman from June 2009 until this year. Before joining PetSmart in 1999, Moran was president of Toys "R'' Us Canada, following various executive positions with Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Galerias Preciados, a Spanish retailer. Moran also currently serves on the board of directors of the USA Track & Field Foundation.
In 2012, GNC directors received annual retainers of $45,000, along with $95,000 in annual equity awards, plus fees of $2,000 for meeting attendance, according to regulatory filings. Specific committee members and chairs may receive additional compensation.
