Members of Perth's Muslim community have condemned an apparent act of religious vandalism at Rockingham Memorial Park.
Yesterday grave diggers found the remains of two slaughtered pigs dumped in the Muslim section of the cemetery.
Police are investigating.
The Chairman of the Muslim Social and Sports Association Iqbal Samnakay says there is no doubt the pig carcasses were put there to offend.
"Irrespective of which religion you are, whether your Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Hindu or any other, you've got to respect each religion and their practices," he says.
However, he has urged people not to respond to the incident.
"Let the authorities deal with it as they need to deal with this thing," Mr Samnakay said.
"This is our month of Ramadan which is our fasting month and it's a time of forgiveness, so we'll forgive and let the authorities follow up as they need to follow up."
