Worksafe month in Tasmania will be highlighted for the next four weeks with a number of seminars and workshops organised to discuss safety, especially on Tasmanian farms.
Phill John from Workcover Tasmania, a former farmer says more than 4 hundred injuries occurred in regional areas of Tasmania during 2012.
Phill John says quad bikes featured in a number of on on-farm accidents, and several quad bike safety demonstrations will be held during the month, including King and Flinders Islands.
He says farmers do varied and different jobs, some of them dangerous, and often work alone causing problems if an accident happens.
The workshops and seminars are all free during the month, and farmers and rural workers can find out more on the Worksafe Tasmania website.
