A North Queensland livestock agent says the number of live cattle exports leaving the Port of Townsville is on the rise.
Charters Towers agent Tony Bowen says there's renewed activity, and two boats carrying cattle have travelled to Indonesia it the past couple of weeks.
He says the renewed interest has generated confidence in the region.
"There's plenty of agriculture departments and government officials working out on sorting out the high level issues but definitely the demand is there."
"The future for it out of the Townsville Port and our surrounding region definitely looks more upbeat than it has done for the last 12 to 18 months, most definitely."
