The Federal Liberal MP for Paterson Bob Baldwin will meet with regional broadcasters today in a bid to sort out ongoing problems with television reception in his electorate.
Mr Baldwin says the change-over to digital television has failed to improve television reception in some areas, with some residents still unable to get a proper signal.
He says he wants to work with local broadcasters on coming up with a solution.
"I understand one of the issues is actually the signal getting ducted," he said.
"That means the issues with all the signals coming up from the Central Coast, Sydney, even Wollongong, coming up together and crashing our signal - that is a problem.
"It is no longer acceptable people aren't able to receive quality television in their home."
The Hunter's four Federal Labor MPs are meeting in Newcastle today to discuss their plans to move the region forward over the coming years in Opposition.
Shortland MP Jill Hall says the region needs a strong voice to keep the government accountable.
"Really the start of where we go from here as a Labor team in the Hunter," she said.
"We're having a meeting where we're going to look at the priorities over the next three years.
"We've all done that in our own electorate, and now we're looking at what we, as a group, can deliver to our region."
