One of two people convicted of murdering Queensland policeman Damian Leeding on the Gold Coast is due to be sentenced in the Supreme Court today.
Phillip Graeme Abell, 41, is facing a minimum of 15 years in jail without parole for the murder of Detective Senior Constable Damian Leeding.
The officer died in May 2011 after being shot in the head while responding to a hold-up at the Pacific Pines tavern.
Abell will be sentenced in Brisbane's Supreme Court today.
He was due to learn his fate last week, but Abell's lawyers sought more time to respond after learning the magnitude of the sentence being sought by the prosecution.
Abell's accomplice Donna Lee McAvoy is to be sentenced at a date yet to be set.
