A Clare Valley winery has produced the best cabernet sauvignon in the world, for the second time in a decade.
Taylors Wines was awarded the high honour at the world's most respected wine event, the London International Wine and Spirits competition.
Taylors Wines third generation managing director Mitchell Taylor says the win is huge for his family and the workers at the winery.
"We are absolutely over the moon with winning this award. It is a significant award for the international wine world at this prestigious wine show."
He says the winning wine has a lot of great qualities.
"It's from 40-year-old vines grown on the estate, the original plantings that we had.
They've got lovely intensity of fruit that comes off them, very low yielding, but lovely blackberry, blackcurrant flavours that go throughout the wine.
"Then when we bring them back to the winery, we have the very best French oak to mature the wine in."
Mr Taylor says the wine came from the 2010 vintage.
"The 2010 vintage was a good vintage, we had some solid ripening. It was a quite a dry year, so the yields were quite low with that, but we also had a lovely ripening period.
"So the real skill in this wine was we were able to pick the grapes off the estate just at the right time."
