Police believe a number of people visiting Shark Bay for New Year's celebrations may have captured a fatal assault on their mobile phones.
Blake Paul Michael Dowding, 28, of Perth, died yesterday morning after a fight with another man at the Heritage Resort in Denham.
It is alleged Mr Dowding was struck by the man and hit his head on bitumen in the car park.
He died a short time later at the local nursing post.
A 31-year-old Geraldton man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and has been remanded in custody until Friday.
Senior Sergeant Greg McDonald is urging anybody with footage of the incident to contact police.
"Some of those people may well have left town already," he said.
"If anybody has information, we ask them to either contact the Shark Bay police or Crime Stoppers.
"Irrespective of where they are, we can come to them and find that information wherever they may be."
