A PAKISTANTI GIRL ACTIVIST WHO WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD BY THE TALIBAN HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM A BRITISH HOSPITAL.
OFFICIALS SAY THAT MALALA YOUSUFZAI (mah-LAH'-lah yoo-SOOF'-zeye) WILL BE TREATED AS AN OUTPATIENT BEFORE BEING RE-ADMITTED FOR FURTHER CRANIAL RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY.
SEEN HERE DURING HER HOSPITAL STAY, YOUSUFZAI HAD BEEN AIRLIFTED FROM PAKISTAN TO THE UK FOR SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE.
SHE WAS TARGETED ON HER WAY HOME FROM SCHOOL FOR PROMOTING EDUCATION FOR GIRLS.
DOCTORS ARE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT HER RECOVERY BECAUSE SHE'S STILL A TEENAGER WHOSE BRAIN CAN ADAPT BETTER TO TRAUMA.
HER DOCTORS HOPE YOUSUFZAI WILL BENEFIT FROM BEING AT HOME WITH HER FAMILY.
